Source Critique of Global Warming

In the Nsikak and Palmer article encyclopedia of “Global Warming and Climate Change,” they interpret about contribution of global warming. According to the authors they have discussed that global warming is basically the incrimination in the Earth’s average surface temperature (Nsikak, and Palmer 87). Nonetheless, it is important to note that the greenhouse does contain gases which are flowing to the atmosphere from the humans who might generate them. It can also be observed that many human processes for example, could be power stations, power stations, agriculture, fossil fuel and commercial activities. They have led to the production of the high levels of the greenhouse gases for instance carbon dioxide (Nsikak, and Palmer 93). In this example, the authors have noted that out of these activities agriculture has contributed as the highest amount of the nitrous oxide and methane. This example has shown that there are eminent dangers posed in atmosphere by the gases which are discharge due to the human activities. The authors have tried to explain how individuals could reduce the discharge.  These authors have not explained about how they could generate them (Nsikak, and Palmer 87). It is crucial to note that there might be a rise to the individuals utilizing the automobiles manipulation which could include the nitrogen base fertilizer along with the breeding methane belching which could come from the cattle.

As a starting point, I take as a reader that climate is warming due to the activities of the human, although there are winners and losers. The overall impacts of this warming would be dangerous to humankind. The issue of human responsibility and the climate policies are usually addressed in regards to the viewpoints made by the author and they emphasize on either individual or perhaps collective responsibility (Nsikak, and Palmer 87).  In this article it has been divided into various sections. The introduction talks about global warming, what it all means. There is also a section talking about carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, water vapor, halocarbon gases, and the global warming effects. My general argument in regards to this article is that the authors have considered consumerist viewpoints, and they have not shown some essential elements of human life overlooked and are incomplete to address on the issue of global warming. The reason as to why these authors have overlooked this could be because some of the dimension ought to have been directly regulated (NASA).

The authors focused more on global warming as the driver to more biodiversity losses. They needed to have also considered climate change as the mirror which reflects on how wild nature’s ability to adapt to this change. It has seriously been undermined. An example highlights climate change comes from various scientific fields. According to the authors they have highlighted that it ranges from physics of how the greenhouse gases interact with the infrared radiation to the chemistry as well as biology on how the carbon dioxide cycles between the life forms. This approach example is to give people enough information in regards to the science in order to give them clear understanding to the climate change.

In other words, it is more than escalation of destruction of nature. It has also been observed from the article the intrinsic resilience of life into the face of the environmental challenge, including the severe ones. For instance, the climatic upheaval has been weakened in the sense that many of the species have been divested on their ability to cope. The authors have failed to show how the species are able to adjust to climate change.

The authors viewpoints on global warming effects has provided validity that  human-induced warming to over decade has been impacting on the physical as well as the biological processes when it comes to the global scale.  For example, it could be based on the other major research finding their views hold on the aspects that there are changes in the climate temperature, which are taking place along with the increase in the global averages air, as well as the ocean temperature. It is also worth mentioning that the authors have also observed that as a result of the climatic changes, a majority of the world population would likely expect to encounter shortages in water by the turn of the century and this would result in the reduction of the food production, particularly in the low attitude areas (Nsikak, and Palmer 87). The above example is an important observation they have made since it would help individuals to address the issue of global warming when they join forces together and work towards eradicating it.

Furth more others sources that prove that the authors points to be logical are when the authors discussed on the indirect impacts of global warming (Nsikak, and Palmer 27). The authors have highlighted that this aspect would have an impact on the sociological, political, along with the economic climate of many countries. An example, global warming has remained an issue to the widespread to the political debate often has split along the political lines. Many of the issues have been settled within the scientific community, for instance responsibility to the global warming which has remained the subject to the political motivated attempt to dismiss ideological phenomenon  categorized as the climate change.

This is true in the sense that there are many reports which have indicated that the aspect of social, economic, and physical infrastructural indices have evolved from the adaptation of the region society to the prevailing climate as well as hydrological conditions (Nsikak, and Palmer 43). This aligns with the articles investigation which has been done by the authors; this seems to be logical since it align with other reports. Therefore, it should be noted that in case there will be frequent occurrence to the magnitudes to the phenomenon such as typhoons, floods, or even droughts, they will alter on the habitability of the regions and this will hinder the social and the economic activities of the residents (Nsikak, and Palmer 71).  I strongly appreciate on this point in that the direct effects on the global climate would likely cause many nations to suffer from the increase in under-population, due to drought, and erosion. This point would surely educate individuals on the impacts that would be brought by global warming so that they take the necessary steps to address this issue before they experience it.

The authors have also elaborated on the problem associated with the environment which might be aggravated, thus creating a recycling of the environmental disturbances as well as to further the impacts of global warming. It could also be noted that the aspect of overpopulation could also result in serious famine and poverty, there have been causes of close to zero health care with the individuals who are suffering from the more serious curable and incurable diseases.

When it comes to the authors view in this article, I agree on all of them. The overall validity of the content is on point. The authors have done a lot in this research on the effect of global warming topic. They have incorporated wide array of effects to global warming. With the facts which have been presented the authors have been able to accomplish the following aspect, provided false misconception on this topic of global warming, helped individuals to address this aspect and validated on the ideas relating to global warming.
