DescriptionWrite a short essay (two to three pages, double-spaced) analyzing your health using your sociological imagination. Connect your individual biography to past historical epochs/changes, contemporary social forces (inequality, globalization, technology, etc.), and/or your membership in social groups (racial, gender, class, sexuality, religious, etc.). Class materials—lectures, discussions, readings—should give you some ideas. Some suggestions:You might focus on your health in general. What sociological factors affect your overall health?You might focus on a specific aspect of your health (e.g., a chronic condition, a past health crisis, insurance issues, (dis)ability).
