during the weekly discussion sections.

Please refer to the “WRITING A RHETORICAL ANALYSIS / RESPONSE PAPER” handout (file attached) for the format. Follow it closely. There should only be 4 sentences in the first paragraph, each of which have a very specific aim. This short and strict structure requires you to synthesize the article and allows you to be very purposeful in crafting your words. In an optional (but firmly recommended) paragraph or sentence, you can explain your own reaction.
