Assignment:
Write a one-page annotated bibliography focusing on the research designs of three peerreviewed journal articles on a topic of your choice. The three articles must examine the
same topic, but may do so in different ways. Papers should not exceed 1.5 pages long,
not counting the Turabian/Chicago style reference list. Use 12 point, Times New
Roman font, double spaced, with 1 inch margins. Use complete sentences and include page numbers in parentheses for any quotations or major ideas.
Content to look for:
Introduction – Why is the topic or question interesting? What is new?
Lit Review – Does it include a comprehensive literature review of the topic? Identify the theory
used by the study. What is the research question or hypothesis?
Methods – Identify the research design used by the study and describe their methods (see page
451 of the textbook). Is it unique or a new approach? If so, how does the author justify it?
• FOCUS ON THE DESIGN AND METHODS FOR THE FINAL ASSIGNMENT.
Discussion – What are the results? How does the author interpret the findings?
Conclusion/Next Step – Does the article include any conclusions or suggestions for further
research?
