Derivate disaster research paper
A research paper no more than 6 pages double-spaced with an extra page for your list of citations (minimum 3 citations). The paper should be written in MLA format with appropriate in-text citations. All charts, graphs, and tables should be in appendices and referenced in the paper. The appendix does not count toward your page count but I would expect that a top-quality paper would make reference to various charts, tables, and graphs.
I would like you to consider the following questions in researching your topic. But please don’t limit your paper to only these questions. Also, the paper should be organized like a typical research paper. Don’t just list each question below and answer it. I expect there to be an introduction, methods, results and conclusion section.
• What actually happened that led to the disaster/loss (using appropriate terminology acquired in this class)?
• Were there any warning signs?
• How was it missed?
• What was done to correct the problem?
• What lessons are we to learn?
• Were there any regulatory or legal consequences to the firm (fines, oversight, etc)?
• Was it an isolated instance or were there widespread cultural problems in the firm that caused this?
