Observation Report Instructions
You will conduct two hours of observation in an educational situation observing a gifted child, a classroom for gifted students, or the teacher of a gifted class. The observation can take place in a public, private, or homeschool situation, but should not be your own child. The report must be narrative in form and describe each hour of the observation. You must outline the timeline that takes place and comment upon the events that occur during the observation. The report may be written in first person, narrative form. Follow the directions sent in the announcement for setting up the observation.

- Look at the class or student with gifted education in mind.
- Does the student or class exhibit any of the characteristics for giftedness?
- What traits does the child exhibit that make you think he/she could be gifted?
- Do you agree with the instruction model that the student/class is following?
- What would you do differently, and why? Would the teacher make a good teacher for the gifted?
- Does the teacher extend learning by offering additional resources to those in the class that may be gifted or talented and want to carry the learning further?
- Are there opportunities for the gifted and talented to provide for those times when they have already mastered a topic or completed an assignment early?
Your Observation Report must include:

- Proper, current APA formatting
