On January 11, 2016, the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit issued a ruling in the case of Armstrong v. Village of Pinehurst that could have a tremendous effect on law enforcement managers. It placed restrictions on the use of tasers to subdue subjects. This case applies to Virginia Law Enforcement Agencies and could alter training and use of force policies.
