Read the Book of Job. Some of you may already be familiar with this story. However, I challenge you to take another more in-depth, analytical approach with the eyes of a World Literature student! Job endures many tests to his faith and is required to exercise an immense amount of strength in order to fulfill the will of God and remain obedient. While Job battled with emotions internally, there are various external factors that encourage him to turn away from the righteous path. In a two-paragraph response to the following prompt:
Compare the struggle of Job to the modern-day black man’s struggle. How are their experiences different? How are they similar? Are they parallel? Additionally, what is the overall message to the overcome adversity for the black man?
