After reading chapter 1 and watching the video, answer the following questions.

1. Compare and contrast the regions of the United States on several factors such as economic development, race and ethnicity, political ideology, and religion, and explain how these factors may affect policy differences among the states.

2. Describe the politics of immigration from both a national and sub national perspective.

3. List and discuss several major policy responsibilities of states and community

After reading chapter 2, respond to the following question.

1. List and describe the major sections contained in most state constitutions. (E.g., federalism, separation of powers, individual rights,etc.).
