Part A: (complete 1 page)

Using the SAMHSA Web site, pick 3 disorders from the list provided, and gives an overview of each disorder (1 full paragraph per disorder). The list includes the following:

• Anxiety Disorders
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Bipolar Disorders
• Borderline Personality Disorder
• Depression
• Disruptive Behavioral Disorders
• Eating Disorders
• Insomnia Disorders
• Obsessive-compulsive Disorder(OCD)
• Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Schizophrenia

Part B: (complete 1-2 pages)

After completing the overviews, pick 1 treatment method for mental illness from the following list and use it for all 3 disorders explaining if it would be or wouldn’t be an effective treatment method:

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
• Psychopharmacology Therapy
• Psychotherapy
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy
• Rational Emotive Behavior      Therapy
• Person Centered Therapy

Lastly explain the ethical considerations in using ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) and Psychosurgery on patients that are institutionalized.
