In 2012, a Derecho (derecho is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a land-based, fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms.) impacted the United States from Iowa through Maryland causing major destruction within its path.
Write at minimum of five (5) page paper on how your agency handles planning and management of this type of event and what contingency plans may be in place for these types of incidents that may include critical infrastructures, power outages, evacuation, mass casualties, etc. Lastly, as the emergency manager discuss some of the immediate priorities within the Emergency Operations Centers that you would consider. Be sure to use other reference material as appropriate.
