the effectiveness of fluoride varnishes in caries prevention in early childhood caries (ECC)

IMPORTANT. THIS IS NOT AN ESSAY. THIS IS A LITERATURE REVIEW

 

Students undertake research in the form of a literature review in an area with an oral health promotion/ preventive focus (a broad view, including tertiary prevention, is acceptable). Students are encouraged to base their literature review on the plan submitted as part of the Community and Public Health Dentistry unit.

1. Literature review (4000 words)

Literature reviews should be typed and double–spaced with 2.5 cm margins and include a student declaration.

The following format is required:

Title page (with word count), table of contents page, page numbering

Abstract (a structured summary, ~250 words)

Background

Methods (brief description of search details – key words, exclusion criteria, years searched, databases and other reference sources)

Discussion (discussion and evaluation of relevant research)

Conclusion (with any recommendations)

References

Correct use of referencing (primary sources etc.) will be an important item for assessment.
