First, the review shoud indicate a thorough knowledge of the book as a whole, read on its own terms. This part of the review is a kind of summary of the entire volume. This summary should include information pertaining to the work’s basic purpose, its central them(s, presuppositions, and methods. This first element should present the big picture of this book and its constituent parts.
