Final presentation project: For this assignment, you will research and prepare a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation with 10-12 slides on a selected topic relating to recent (last two years) security and surveillance technologies. You will be expected to deliver a polished and concise overview of the topic in the allotted 15-minute time frame. I encourage you to also consider how you want to engage your audience in your presentation (see my lecture/notes “Tips for making an effective presentation”).

Your presentation must be submitted to Blackboard on the day of your presentation. The topic will be selected on the second day of class. The due dates for the presentation are included in the Course Schedule section in this syllabus and will be posted on Blackboard. You will be required to write an outline for the Presentation by Tuesday, September 25, 2018, and this must be posted on Blackboard in the appropriate drop box. An example of the required format for the outline is posted on Blackboard. Although there are several excellent presentation programs available, I recommend that you use either PowerPoint, or Prezi.

You will be graded on how well you present the materials. Your goal is to engage the audience effectively and to get your message across. Do you give your audience a clear understanding of the topic and your position within the argument? Do you provide support for your allegations? How well do you engage the audience? Make sure your topic is clear and interesting. In summary, the presentation project will be graded for its content, how well you present the materials and the quality of preparation.
